doodle dump
Work doodles!
So I went and shot some guns this weekend. I'm pretty much a cowgirl now, and a pro. Just sayin'.
The first one is a cat wearing a plastic bag as a cape, but its shocked that its wearing a bag. The next one is a hot dog.

Singing cat!
Birthday present painting for a friend. Here's the rough:
Mixed media on acrylic
7x5
I like how it turned out but am slightly disappointed in the differences of the final than the rough. I liked how the cat didn't look quite right, it still works though. My goal this year is to do more paintings either for myself or other people so there will be more! I hope I don't look back on this post at the end of the year thinking about how I didn't do enough paintings.
I'm tying the knot this year with my best bud and this is our invite that I drew!

Hans
I see this guy every morning so I've made up a back story for him. He's a german mechanic named Hans. He walks to work everyday and he loves to work on air cooled cars but usually has to work on boring old water cooled cars. Air cooled is his real passion.
But he loves working on cars so much that it really doesn't matter that much in the end. He owns a yellow vw thing. He got a tattoo on his forearm to demonstrate his love for wrenching. He probably smokes tobacco out of a pipe.
Today he was wearing a cute little white sweater!!!
Sorry if the colors are blinding you...they look fine on this cintiq but on my monitor they are blown out. Could just be my monitor though...
Edit: Brought the brightness down a smidge.

I forgot that I drew these a few months ago so I thought since I was scanning stuff I would scan and then post these.
The top one is supposed to be Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Her face is so crazy in that film it was challenging....
If you haven't seen it I would say to you "Stop looking at my blog and go watch that movie!!"
This one is John Ireland from the Fast and the Furious (1965). He's got an amazing face that was pretty fun to draw, there are some other dudes on that page but I have no idea who or where they are from. Maybe the same movie?

Movember Art Show
Here's the piece I did for the Movember Art Show at the Ayden Gallery:

Final!:

Mustache Showdown
8x10
Acrylic
Whatcha think? I tried to make it look like it was in a wide screen movie...y'know with those black bars. This is the first time I've ever been in an art show. I wanted to do a few more but I didn't have time. I also wanted to make it bigger. Next time I'll do up a bigger one now that I know that I am getting more confident with paints.
